Volleyball

I shot two volleyball games this past Friday and decided to try something a little different.  Alongside shooting the game as I normally do, I also set up a remote camera which shot a frame every two seconds.  I only had one 4GB card to spare, so I got a total of 1887 frames which covered a bit of the pre game warm up, as well as two games (no more, no less).

For my second try at this I might have to do it at a game where I don’t need to shoot too many photos so I can move the camera around a little (and hook it up to a laptop so I don’t run out of space). Here is the video (if you click on the link at the top of the video, it takes you to the HD version, but since I don’t have a Vimeo pro account, I can’t embed that version).

The camera was set up near the top of the bleachers as is shown below.  I really felt bad for the guys sitting there because a shutter going off every two seconds can drive a person mad.

And here are two shots (one from the men’s game and the other from the women’s).

Guelph Gryphons Andrew Revie goes up for the block during their match-up against the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday. Despite being a higher ranked team than the Blue, the Gryphons lost 3-0 in the match-up.

Gryphons Brooke Lloyd digs deep on the dive to bump the ball up to Claire Sandor in Fridays game against Brock. The Gryphons would go on to lose 3-1 to Brock which also broke their 5 game home winning streak.
