Volleyball

I shot two volleyball games this past Friday and decided to try something a little different. Alongside shooting the game as I normally do, I also set up a remote camera which shot a frame every two seconds. I only had one 4GB card to spare, so I got a total of 1887 frames which covered a bit of the pre game warm up, as well as two games (no more, no less).

Gryphons Jay Mott catches a rebound during their game againt the Laurier Golden Hawks.

Not from deep within the archives, but enough games have passed between these ones and now to make these photos archivable. I just liked the light in this one…It’s not often the lights align their phases in a such a way to make something look anything but flat, but when they do, I am a [...]

Archives: Black Bear Rally

A handful of shots from the Black Bear Rally this past summer.  I’m off to Egypt, Jordan and Turkey tomorrow, so I won’t be posting regularly (other than some posts I have pre-scheduled).  See you in 2010 with some fresh material. R

First (major) snow

Finally, the snow has come. Except, it came on a day where I was stuck in the office all day, so could not go out and enjoy it or even so much as photograph it. I didn’t really let that stop me and just shot some scenes from outside of my office window.

Archives: Fire burning

These two images are from a dorm room fire simulation held on Johnston Green at the University of Guelph.  The entire demonstration was not much longer than 5 minutes and I think it got the point across as to how quickly fire can spread in a dorm.   R

Archives: a trip to the wrecking yard

This small selection of photos are from earlier in the fall, when the Guelph Photography Guild went on a trip the the McClean’s Wrecking Yard east of Guelph.  I’m pretty sure I could spend days upon days there and not run out of things to take photos of…here are a few of the detail shots I [...]
